Mission Week #31

Subject: Phone Call in 6 days

Hello,

We had a pretty good week here...

Last night we went to Provo and Elder Ramires got his Patriarchal blessing. He was going to get it before in Mexico but somehow it didn't work out. The Patriarch was from Chile and it was awesome experience to hear someone else receive their blessing.

We visited Angelica during the week and the boys were working on a pine wood derby car. The cub scout program is good here and a lot of non members kids go, including Angelica's son. I gave him some excellent tips on how to make his car faster and a flood of memories came back of when dad spent like 40 hours on the champion derby car. I am confident it would still win.

Tuesday night Hno. Valencia came teaching with us. He is a convert of about 2 years and the rest of his family, including his wife and kids, are still catholic. He has an awesome conversion story and I have been wanting him to be able to share it with Fernando and finally they were able to meet. Hno. Valencia talked a lot of the time but I think it went well. He was pretty direct about all the traditions like praying to saints and mary and Fernando's problem is that he is just has grown up following people and not the scrpitures so I think he is starting to realize the difference.

Friday night we had our branch activity that has been in the works for about 3 months. The branch mission leader is kind of an emotinal guy and we knew if no investigators came he would be heartbroken.  We spent a lot of time inviting everyone and luckily people came. Remember Danis? He was from like 2 months ago and we thought he would get baptized really fast but his work has not allowed him to do much more than eat, work, and sleep. However, he has a new schedule now and came to the party with his wife. The next day we visted him and set a baptismal date for next month.

Thats about it... Can't wait to call home!

Love, Elder Clark
